Welcome! I'm Steffanee.
In 2019, my wife and I began our journey to parenthood and quickly realized just how little representation there was in the medical field—much less in the birth world.
After our first son was born, I made it my mission to become the person I needed during that time. Someone who could meet us where we were at, with knowledge rooted in both lived experience and learning.
Through years of learning, growing, and building my place in the birth world, Nurtured Roots was born. Today, I'm passionate about helping families feel seen, heard, informed, and supported as they navigate pregnancy, birth, feeding, and the transition into parenthood.
Because you shouldn't have to navigate this journey alone.
When I'm not helping families, I'm probably off exploring with my own! You'll find us camping in the woods, adventuring somewhere new, or cuddled up on the couch building our Minecraft paradise.

Prenatal Consult
A private, one-on-one prenatal consultation gives you space to talk through your feeding goals, ask questions, and feel more prepared for the early days with your baby. Whether this is your first baby or you’ve had a challenging feeding experience before, we’ll focus on what you want your feeding journey to look like.

What to expect in the first hours and days after birth
Getting feeding off to a comfortable start
Positioning and latch
Hand expression and early milk production

Initial Lactation Consult
An initial lactation consultation is individualized support for you and your baby. We'll talk through your concerns, assess what's happening with feeding, and create a practical plan based on your goals and your family's needs.

Milk supply and milk transfer
Pumping and milk expression
Bottle feeding
Infant oral function
Weight gain concerns

A pump consultation is personalized support to help you feel confident using your pump and getting the most out of your pumping experience.
